WELCOME

William, a retired criminal lawyer who until 2002 spent 25 years representing all manner of villains and has defended miscreants charged with the most heinous of crimes.

These crimes have included murder and some even with a connection to International Terrorism, including some sex crimes together with the run of the mill matters such as armed robbery and commercial fraud.

No better person you may think to write torrid stories about crime in the town where he practiced for so long and so successfully.

After writing a successful crime based trilogy called collectively LIFE AMID CRISIS which was based loosely on material gleaned from several actual cases which William had dealt with during his legal career, William decided to extend his portfolio and write using recent historical events as a background for his fiction.

William has always had an interest in Irish History since his school days and upon hearing that his maternal grandfather served in the Emerald Isle in the 1890’s at a time when insurgency and insurrection was widely festering amongst the inhabitants. This led to the writing of IN DUBLIN’S FAIR CITY based on the uprising of 1916 and the involvement of a specifically formed department for Military Intelligence (MI5) to try and get to the root of the problem.

This naturally led to William writing about the same group under the leadership of Major Horace McCracken being used to try and unearth the leaking of many military secrets being experienced across the Channel in France by High Command during the build up to the hoped for war winning battle of THE SOMME in 1916.

William then fast forwards himself in time almost 90 years to 2005 to a time of uncertainty and disruption brought about by the volatile activity in the middle East and the rise of terrorism spurred on by Muslim discontent and the formation of Groups such as Al Qaeda to spread their message of disaffection to what they believed to be the comfortable and avaricious West.

William’s most recent novel A TROJAN HORSE with the background of the run up to the attack on London on July 7th 2005 relates to how a firm of local lawyers in the fictitious town of Belfield in the North of England becomes involved with suspected terrorists and the frequent non cooperative relationship between Special Branch and MI5 and the resultant toxic intrigue therefrom.

Finally and written in between the others, William on a completely different subject penned his only novel with a religious connotation ON THE ROAD TO DAMASCAS which is a novel set at the time of the crucifixion and has set forth a possible scenario if Jesus had survived the cross and lived a full and productive life thereafter.

The Trilogy

Life Amid Crisis – A Trilogy of Tales from the Files of Maurice Stone and Price is Blencoe’s first collection of work and is based upon the professional and personal antics of three small town lawyers. It offers a fascinating and exhilarating insight into the criminal underworld of an ordinary northern town and the maelstrom that emerges where crime and the law meet.

Blencoe is not afraid of exposing the naked truth, particularly in matters that polite society would prefer to brush under the carpet. His storylines are shocking in places but always gripping and entertaining. You’ll find that his plots are never straightforward, instead expect unexpected twists and turns that will leave you surprised and confused and always uncertain of what is coming next...
